Newly Qualified GP - Bishops Waltham Surgery

Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic newly qualified GP (within the last two years, without a substantive position post qualification) to join our friendly, innovative and supportive GP training practice.
We are supported by an excellent and proactive Nursing, Management, Reception/Administrative and Dispensing team. The Practice forms part of the Winchester and Rural South PCN and has a good relationship with the three other member practices. We host the PCN Management and Administrative team within our practice.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and forward-thinking GP to join our team.
Main Duties
- To provide highly effective medical care to our population via a mixture of face to face and telephone consultations, including home visits.
- Effective management of long-term conditions
- Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice policy and guidance
- On a rotational basis undertake Duty Doctor sessions (there will be a gradual introduction to duty sessions)
- Process administrative tasks in a timely manner, including referrals, blood results, repeat dispensing and any other associated administrative tasks.
- Adhere to dispensary, local and national guidance when prescribing.
- Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
- Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice and PCN.
- Attend practice meetings as required.
- As a newly qualified GP we will provide regular training sessions with a GP Partner over the first 6 months.
- We would actively support development of a special interest or clinical lead in an area once settled into the role.
- As a practice we aim to work to the BMA safe working limits.
- Six weeks annual leave and one week study leave (pro rata)

- 10 current GP Partners and a GP Retainer
- Three Advance Nurse Practitioners – undertaking acute on the day appointments and they lead on Home Visiting and caring for the housebound population.
- Large Nursing Team consisting of 5 Practice Nurses, 2 HCA’s and 3 Phlebotomists
- Via the ARRS role we have an Advanced Physiotherapist and Clinical Pharmacist working with the practice.
- GP Training Practice with 3 GP Trainers
- Partners with Special Interests within the Practice – Dermatology & Vasectomy
- Dispensing Practice
- Weekly Whiteboard Meetings with other Community Providers to facilitate excellent care and create strong relationships with Community Teams and fellow neighbouring Practices
