Job Summary
We are seeking a part‑time Clinical Director to provide compassionate, values‑driven clinical leadership across our GP Federation, supporting the delivery of safe, effective, and innovative primary and community care services at scale.
This role is open to a GP, Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Prescriber), or Allied Health Professional with prescribing authority, with significant experience in primary care leadership.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior clinical leadership across federation‑delivered services
- Lead clinical governance, quality assurance, and patient safety
- Act as safeguarding lead for adults and children, ensuring robust systems and escalation processes
- Support and oversee clinical appraisal, supervision, and professional development
- Contribute to service development, innovation, and system transformation
- Provide clinical input into operational service delivery and workforce planning
- Represent the federation within ICS, PCN, community, and commissioning forums
- Promote integrated, person‑centred care and population health approaches
Essential Criteria
- Registered clinician: GP / ANP Prescriber / Allied Health Professional with prescribing qualification
- Substantial experience working in primary care, including delivery of services at scale
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, safeguarding, and risk management
- Experience of clinical leadership, appraisal, and supervision
- Ability to lead collaboratively across organisations and disciplines
- Excellent communication, influencing, and decision‑making skills
- Commitment to NHS values and ethical leadership, with a clear belief that doing the right thing matters
Desirable
- Experience of service redesign or transformation
- Experience working with GP Federations, PCNs, or ICS structures
- Formal leadership or management qualification
