Salaried GP - Ridgeway View Family Practice

How to apply
Please apply via NHS Jobs website or by email to sam.oliver6@nhs.net
Job summary
Due to retirement, we have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and motivated salaried GP to start with us as soon as possible. We are looking to fill 8 sessions per week, which could be split into 2 roles. We would invite applications from GPs seeking 2 sessions upwards. Working days and times can be flexible but Friday is essential, as is the requirement to be in the building until 6.30pm on Duty Doctor days only, which are rota'd on a fortnightly basis and shared amongst GPs.
Main duties of the job
Your working day will consist of a mixture of face to face and telephone consultations and associated administrative work, in addition to occasional home visits. All of our GPs take on some supervision of registrars, medical students and oversight of ACPs / Paramedic colleagues with time allocated. There is opportunity to work closely with one of our 7 large care homes, which would involve occasional ward rounds and liaison with other colleagues who attend visits to manage the care of these patients, with time allocated. We would be particularly interested in applications from GPs with special interest in frailty, women's health or mental health.
About us
Ridgeway View Family Practice is a ~15,000 patient, busy General Practice surgery based across two sites in Wroughton and Chiseldon. We are part of Brunel Healthcare Group (Brunel PCN 1) working together with other practices across Swindon to achieve best practice outcomes and economy of scale working. Examples of this are the former STEAM vaccination centre and our current joint Saturday Extended Access clinic. We have a strong team of nurses, ACPs, Paramedic, Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescriber and highly trained GP Assistants, who mange the burden of referrals, clinical coding and correspondence. We are fully embracing digital technologies and we buy in to services which cover our Extended Access requirement and offer our patients more accessibility. There is no working outside of core hours expected. Brunel PCN 1 is one of the first "Approved Learning Organisations" in the area and as such as embrace learning and development within our practice and we enjoy hosting GP Registrars as well as Medical and Nursing students. We prioritise work / life balance and work hard to maintain a calm, happy and supportive workplace.
