Reception Supervisor - Birchwood Practice

We are looking to recruit an experienced and dynamic reception supervisor to lead our team. The ideal candidate will enjoy supporting others and want to make a difference in primary care. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing daily operations, support the reception team in the day to day running of reception and is integral to our approach to patient care, both face-to-face, virtually and on the telephone.
Ideally you will have at least 2 years current/recent experience as a medical receptionist role and current or recent experience of a supervisory role.
You will be joining an amazing practice team who are friendly and very supportive towards each other, and who pride themselves on their professional and caring approach to supporting the 10,500 patients under their care and the local community.
We are part of Poole North PCN and benefit from additional services including, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, an MSK specialist, Mental Health Practitioner, Pharmacy Technicians, Social Prescribers, Physios, Health coaches, and Teenage Counsellors.

Hours are 37 to be worked across 5 days – please ensure you are able to work full time before applying.
Job Role
- Hold responsibility for the day-to-day supervision of reception and associated functions.
- support reception staff and ensure the smooth running of the reception team
- take part in the training and development of reception staff
- Ensure delivery of high quality of care to patients
About you
- Have excellent customer care skills and compassion for others
- Supervision experience
- Possess excellent IT skills – experience of using SystmOne and Microsoft Office
- Demonstrate flexibility in hours to support the team
- Be capable of prioritising tasks and remaining calm under pressure
- Work to a high professional standard
Requirements are:
- Have a valid and current driving licence
- Experience in a supervisory role
- Experience of working in the NHS (advantageous not essential)
- Excellent Customer Service and IT Skills
- Team player as well as working independently
