Practice Manager Supporter – Alisha Mayaki
Hello! I’m Alisha Mayaki, the Practice Manager at The Homewell Practice and the Co‑PCN Manager for Strawberry Health Primary Care Network.
I work alongside a fantastic team of GPs, nurses, pharmacists, care coordinators, and administrative staff who all share the same goal—providing high‑quality, compassionate care to our community. I began my journey in General Practice in 2021 and quickly discovered how rewarding, challenging, and endlessly varied this world can be. Over the years, I’ve gained experience across practice operations, patient services, workforce development, and PCN transformation work. I’ve supported CQC processes, overseen service improvements, and helped shape new ways of working across our network. My passion is education, and The Homewell Practice is a beacon for student learning.
At Homewell Practice, I manage a busy and dedicated team who care for a diverse patient population. As part of Strawberry Health PCN, I work closely with Vine Medical Group, helping develop innovative projects, and strengthen collaboration across our practices. We are one of the largest care‑home PCNs in South East Hampshire and serve a community with significant health inequalities—something that drives my commitment to accessible, patient‑centred care.
Like many managers in primary care, I’ve had my fair share of “thrown in at the deep end” moments, but I genuinely love what I do. No two days are ever the same, and the challenges keep me learning, adapting, and growing.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, especially holidays in the sun with my husband and daughter. These moments keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of balance, especially in a role that never truly slows down.
I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I’ve learned a huge amount along the way, and I’m always happy to support others in similar roles. General Practice can feel overwhelming at times, but with the right network around you, you can achieve incredible things. Often, the question you’re afraid to ask is the one everyone else is thinking too.
