Key points:
The NHS England COVID-19 enhanced service (ES) for April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027, moves vaccinations to the practice level, allowing GP practices to deliver COVID-19 and adult influenza jabs. This approach aims to boost uptake, improve access, and promote co-administration, requiring practices to target eligible high-risk.
From 13th April 2026 (Spring campaign), October 2026 (exact start date to be confirmed by NHS England in due course) and Spring 2027:
- adults aged 75 years and over
- residents in a care home for older adults
- individuals aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed (as defined in the ‘immunosuppression’ sections of tables 3 or 4 in the COVID-19 chapter of the Green Book)
