Practice Manager Supporter - Nicky Wornell

Hi, my name is Nicky and I am the Managing Partner at Chawton Park Surgery in Alton. My Practice has 5 GP Partners and myself, 2 salaried GPs and 1 retainer. We also have a Physiotherapy triage team, Clinical Pharmacist team, and MIND mental health supporter workers, working across our Primary Care Network. we look after approx 11000 patients, with a list that is slowly growing. A local Practice closed in March 2022 and so we have recently been through a transfer/merge of approx. 1000 patients. We usually have 4 trainee doctors with us at any one time. We are considered a semi-rural practice. We are situated about 14 miles away from the nearest hospital, so we also hold a minor injuries service on site Monday to Friday, which adds something different to the day job.

I am also the Chair of the Local Practice Managers Group.

I have been working in general Practice since 2003 and have been a Managing Partner since October 2019 and I have not looked back. I do not consider myself and expert in anything, but I am always keen to share my experience from the years I have been working within the ever changing NHS and I really enjoy helping people develop where I can.

I live with my husband and my 6 year old daughter in Winchester; I have learnt a lot about priorities and time management over the last four years!
