Administrative Assistant for Local Education, Training & Development

15 hours per week

£20,000 - £25,000 pro-rata per annum, plus pension

Are you a team player who likes working in a fast-paced friendly supportive environment?

If so please read on…

We are the local representative body of general practice and provide support to GPs and their teams in Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Bath & North East Somerset, Swindon, Wiltshire, Jersey and Guernsey.  The LMC also works with a number of other organisations to ensure that the interests of our constituents are represented and heard.

We need an Administrative Assistant to work in our Education, Training & Development (LEaD) department to be the first point of call for queries, to host events virtually or in person & to chase delegate fees.

The LEaD arm of Wessex LMCs supports all members of the general practice team in providing education and training resources to enable general practice to offer safe treatment and a good service to patients. This role will play a key part in making sure that the process for advertising, booking, running and funding training and education is smooth and efficient.

We are looking for a team player with enthusiasm and motivation to make a difference and support the healthcare teams in our area. You will need to be organised, have an excellent ability to pick up IT and work with a bespoke events booking software. You will also need to be able to create efficient systems and processes for your own work whilst working within established systems within the organisation.

You will need to offer excellent customer service to our practices and have a good eye for detail with outstanding communication skills both written and verbal.

Experience of working in primary care would be desirable.

The Administrative Assistant will be predominantly office based at our HQ in Chandler’s Ford (between Winchester and Southampton – close to the M3).  The Assistant will work on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Due to Covid restrictions, most of our training is offered via a remote platform. However, the successful candidate must be willing to travel, with notice, to host events over our whole patch.

For an informal discussion about this post please contact Louise Greenwood Director of Local Education, Training & Development on Louise.greenwood@wessexlmcs.org.uk

If you are interested in applying please send a covering email along with our application form to: julie.thornley@wessexlmcs.org.uk

The closing date for applications is: Monday 31st January 2022 at midday

Interviews will take place on either: Tuesday 8th February, Thursday 10th February, or Friday 11th February 2022
