Primary Care Information Officer

22 hours per week

£28,000 - £31,000 pro-rata per annum, plus pension

We are the local representative body of general practice and provide support to GPs and their teams in Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Bath & North East Somerset, Swindon, Wiltshire, Jersey and Guernsey.  The LMC also works with a number of other organisations to ensure that the interests of our constituents are represented and heard.

We need a Primary Care Information Officer who can collate intelligence regarding general practice and can analyse, summarise and present the information in a clear & concise manner, which enables the Directors to have informed discussions at all levels.

Over the last 18 months general practice has seen significant change the likes of which we have never seen before, changing the way in which services were delivered to patients overnight with much information being published on this.  The role will play a key part in providing data that supports the Wessex LMCs team to develop key resources for practices on what they are delivering for their patients.

Applicants are welcome to apply who have an excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word & PowerPoint with the ability to gather, analyse and prepare concise reports on complex data.  Experience of primary care would be desirable but full training will be given.

You will be a team player and act as a source of advice on a wide range of issues to the Directors that in turn enables them to support GPs, Practice Managers, Nurses & all members of the practice team seeking help from the LMC.

The Primary Care Information Officer will be predominantly office based at our HQ in Chandler’s Ford (between Winchester and Southampton – close to the M3).  Depending on the days of working the principles as to where this will be undertaken are that Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday will be undertaken at our office (Covid restrictions permitting) and Monday & Friday working remotely.

For an informal discussion about this post please contact one of the Directors of Primary Care, Lisa Harding or Michelle Lombardi on 023 8025 3874.

If you are interested in applying you can either send a covering email along with our application form to: julie.thornley@wessexlmcs.org.uk

The closing date for applications is: Monday 31st January 2022 at Midday

Interviews will take place on either: Tuesday 8th February, Thursday 10th February or Friday 11th February 2022
