Practice Nurse - Twyford Surgery
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic, friendly Practice Nurse, preferably with chronic disease experience, to join our expanding team at Twyford Surgery.
The practice nurse will work as part of the primary healthcare team, providing Medical Services to the practice’s patients.
The position is available for an immediate start. If you have the required general practice experience, we would be delighted to receive your application.
Main duties and responsibilities
- To assist the GPs and nurses in providing a high standard of care for the practice population within the practice policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs
- Wound care / ulcer care/Doppler
- Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations
- Chronic diseases
- Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
- Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
- Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate
- Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms
- Cytology
- ECGs
- Venepuncture
- Contraception
- To carry out clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of a senior member of staff.
