Nursing Associate - Mansfield Park Surgery

As Nurse Associate, you will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to monitor care under indirect supervision, using a wide range of skills you have including (but not limited to):

Compliment the role of the GP and other Health Professionals

Make the best use of clinical skills within the practice in order to promote well-being and maximise health gain for patients

Provide a safe, high quality and accessible treatment room service to patients

As the Nurse Associate you will act within your professional boundaries, providing care for your patients from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of their care under the supervision of a GP.

You will show safe clinical decision making and expert care for patients within the general practice, in consultation with the duty GP. You will work with the multi-disciplinary general practice team to support the delivery of policy and procedures and meet the needs of patients.

Supervision and mentoring will be provided by the appropriate senior medical staff – the type of support will depend on the post holder’s skills and knowledge and determined by our clinical governance arrangements.

In addition, the post holder will be encouraged and supported to undertake any training required to ensure appropriate role development.

Essential Qualifications:

Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register

Nursing Associate foundation degree qualification

GCSE Grade A-C in Maths & English or skills level 2 Maths & English

Only applicants who can fulfil the essential qualifications need apply

Desirable:

Qualified in wound management

Qualified in Phlebotomy

Vaccination and Immunisation training

Cervical cytology screening training

Chronic Disease Management (asthma, diabetes diplomas)

Job Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by the nursing team are varied and will differ from time to time under the direction of the Lead nurse / Partners / Practice Manager, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels:

  • Assess, implement, evaluate and manage individual treatment plans for patients at risk of developing a chronic condition.
  • Deliver women’s health screening and cervical screening
  • Administer vaccinations for baby immunisations and assist with baby clinics
  • Care for patients presenting with wounds
  • Assist with minor surgery and contraceptive clinics
  • Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations (this may include minor illness triage, or chronic disease management)
  • Support and advise patients requesting information relating to family planning needs.
  • Assist with the management of nursing supplies and stock maintenance
  • Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associate healthcare agencies and providers where appropriate

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £22,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
