Job Summary
Friarsgate Practice are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic GP to join our friendly and supportive GP training practice. This role aims to enhance patient access to primary care services and improve health outcomes within our community.
About Us:
- Our current clinical team is made up of 8 Partners, 9 salaried GP’s, 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, and Paramedic to support caring for the housebound population.
- There is large Nursing Team consisting of 5 Practice Nurses, 2 HCA’s and 2 Phlebotomists
- We are also supported clinically from the PCN, with Social Prescribers, Clinical pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Physiotherapists, and Mental Health support Team.

- GP Training Practice with 3 GP Trainers
- 25,000 population PMS Practice with excellent local reputation
- The Practice forms part of the Winchester City PCN and has a good relationship with the two other member practices.
- Uses EMIS Web, EPS, eRS, Accurx.
- Development of special clinical interests encouraged with CPD support
- No OOH or extended hours commitments
About the Role:
- 6-8-month fixed term contract (ending 31st March 2027), with ongoing requirement under continual review
- 5-7 sessions per week
- Non-list holding
Main Duties:
- To provide highly effective medical care to our population via a mixture of face to face and telephone consultations, including home visits.
- Effective management of long-term conditions
- Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice policy and guidance
- On a rotational basis undertake Duty Doctor sessions
- Process administrative tasks in a timely manner, including referrals, blood results, repeat prescribing and any other associated administrative tasks.
- Adhere to dispensary, local and national guidance when prescribing.
- Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
- Attend practice meetings as required/as able, to contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice and PCN.
- Regular support/buddy sessions with a GP Partner over the first 12 months at least.
- We would actively support development of a special interest or clinical lead in an area once established in the role.
