Maternity locum - Harcourt Medical Centre

Introduce role

 

We require a GP to cover maternity leave starting on 15th September for nine months

 

Main duties

 

To deliver patient cantered care by through phone and face to face appointments. Rather than duty doctor we have a daily clinical sorter who triages and deals with routine patient queries submitted via the AccuRx system – training for this will be provided if not familiar.

We benefit from low numbers of home visit requests.

Experienced practice nursing team who lead chronic disease management.

Whilst we are independent, we work closely with our neighbouring surgery as part of the local PCN to provide Extended Access and other schemes.

Through ARRS we have added a number of PCN staff, expanding our MDT:

– 2 Pharmacists

– Pharmacy Technician

– Health & Wellbeing coach

– Frailty Practitioner

We have a hardworking and responsive reception and administration team.

Our workflow uses TPP Systm One and is supported by:

– GP-list dedicated Personal Assistants

– Ardens clinical templates and referrals

– DictateIT dictation system

– AccuRx triage

– Admin team members are increasingly supporting with document management to help ensure we only see what we need to see

Key Skills and qualification

  • Medical Degree & GMC Registration: Fully qualified GP with current GMC registration
  • Experience: Previous experience as a GP, with the ability to manage a range of patient conditions and provide high-quality care
  • Teamwork: Strong ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team, including GPs, nurses, and healthcare assistants
  • IT Proficiency: Experience with clinical systems (SystmOne)

 

 

Key Duties/ Job Summary

 

  • Provide high-quality patient care across a range of clinical settings, including long-term condition management, immunisations, and preventative care.
  • Deliver services such as joint injections, women’s health, and minor ops clinics.
  • Participate in weekly clinical meetings and collaborate with a team of GPs, Nurses, and HCAs to provide comprehensive care.
  • Support the development and training of the team, with opportunities for CPD and professional growth.
  • Help maintain the practice’s high QOF score and contribute to its ongoing success.
