Advanced Nurse Practitioner - James Fisher Medical Centre
The Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) has been assessed as competent in practice using their expert clinical knowledge and skills. They have the freedom and authority to act and make autonomous decisions in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients.
The post holder works at the level of advanced clinical practice and has developed and can evidence the underpinning competencies applicable to the specialty or subject area, i.e., the knowledge, skills and behaviours appropriate to the healthcare professionals’ (HCP) setting and job role.
The role provides an opportunity for patients to avoid the need to be referred to a GP, thereby enabling them to receive timely care and negate unnecessary delay in receiving treatment.
An ACP is autonomous in making decisions based on assessment, diagnosis and interpretation of test results and will initiate, evaluate and modify a range of interventions which may include prescribing medicines, therapies, lifestyle advice and care.
We’re seeking an Advanced Clinical Practitioner preferably with experience of working within a primary care setting (desirable) to join our friendly GP practice at James Fisher Medical Centre in Muscliffe, Bournemouth. Newly qualified ACPs will also be considered.
We are a well-established and successful practice with 12,500 patients and we are part of the Bournemouth Central Primary Care Network.
The position is advertised as full time (37.5 hours per week, across Monday to Friday) but we will also consider applications for part-time hours (minimum 2.5 days per week).
Main duties of the job (also see full job description)
We’re seeking 1 or 2 skilled Advanced Practitioners with experience of managing patients presenting with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. The successful candidate will provide support to the daily GP team, working alongside them to ensure that patients are seen by the most appropriate clinician.
