This is a guide to registering for a Transportable DBS Check – Employment Check

You can register online as soon as you have your application reference number. Please use the E0….. number which you will be able to locate on the new system – Employment Check under  ‘Application status’.  To subscribe using your application reference number, your application must be received by the DBS within 28 days.

Note of caution: If Wessex LMCs receive an application form that is completed incorrectly, or insufficient proof of identification is provided, there may be a delay in forwarding your form to the DBS!

Or you can wait and register with your certificate number when you receive your DBS certificate.  This is the number located at the top right-hand side of your certificate that is referred to as the certificate number. To subscribe using your certificate number, your certificate must have been issued within the last 30 days.  In view of the note above this may be your preferred option.

To check the progress of your DBS certificate, use the DBS tracking service.

Registration lasts for 1 year and costs £13 per year (payable by debit or credit card only).

You’ll get an ID number with your registration that you will need to log on to the service.
