Donating a Body to Medical Research

The donation of the body or any of its tissue falls under the authority of the Human Tissue Authority (HTA) and is governed by the Human Tissue Act 2004 which came into force in 2006.

HTA Website

The HTA has a useful information document which would be useful to print out to give to your interested patients. It explains the procedure and contains useful contact details for Medical School and Medical Research Charities and Institutes. It includes the FAQs about body donation.
