Covid Vaccine programme - Access to vaccination for GP Locums

We have recently been asked by Locum GPs how they can access the covid-19 vaccination.

Within the JCVI prioritisation, Frontline Health & Social Care Workers are second on this list along with all patient over the age of 80. We would suggest that locums need to contact their own registered practice to let them know that you are a GP Locum/front line staff and can be identified as such for appointment purposes.

7th Jan 2021 -  NHSE published guidance on vaccination for frontline healthcare workers. This advises that by mid-January NHS Trusts will be established as “hospital hubs” with a responsibility for COVID-19 vaccine delivery to all individuals within JCVI  as set out in the updated Public Health England Green Book, which includes all primary care staff and also locum staff working with patients.

We are further advised that locum GPs in the BSW area can use this email: and the CCG will direct and advise as to how to get booked in.
