Our ‘How to…’ modules are aimed at decision makers and leaders, partners and all GPs and FULLY FUNDED by the levy for Wessex Practices. These are practical sessions which will get to the bottom of exactly what you need to know with the help of our Wessex LMCs team plus some experts in their field of law, finance, leadership and premises. This session will focus on how to approach & understand premises.

Feedback from the previous sessions we have run has been that not all topics were relevant for everyone, particularly relating to the ownership or lease model sections, as in most cases practices will be one or the other.  We have therefore tried to structure the agenda and share this with you before the session so you can identify the elements you wish to listen to.  You are very welcome to switch off your camera’s if you don’t wish to participate in one or more elements of the session.

With this said, it does feel the landscape in relation to premises is evolving with some partnerships being responsible for mixed models of premises therefore you are very welcome to listen to both of these elements.  The choice is yours.


By the end of this session, delegates will have gained an understanding of all aspects relating to premises and the associated responsibilities.

Adam is the Director of Primary Care Surveyors, who provide specialist property advice to the Primary Care Sector. This includes rent reviews, valuations, lease consultancy, development and investment transactions for doctors' surgeries, medical centres and other healthcare providers.

Andy qualified from St Bartholomew’s Medical school in 1996 and undertook GP training in Dorset. He worked as a locum, then salaried GP before becoming a Partner at the Hadleigh Practice in 2002. He reduced his Partnership commitment to part time in 2017 to take on the Medical Director role at Wessex LMCs and became Join CEO in April 2022. He is also a GP trainer and BMA GPC representative for Dorset & Wiltshire.

Price (Inc VAT)

All GPs and members of staff working within GP practices in the Wessex LMCs’ catchment area

This option is for everyone working in a Practice in the Wessex LMC catchment area that does not fit into one of the other options on offer.


Non Members

This is the cost if you are not working in a Practice in the Wessex LMCs catchment area. £250.00

Waiting List

Please be advised there are spaces available on this course unless it states otherwise. If a course is full you will be given the option to book on the waiting list. If you are on the waiting list and a place becomes available, you will be notified automatically you do NOT need to contact Wessex LMCs. 


All delegate fees are non-refundable, however, if it has been agreed that a refund is possible, it will be subject to an administration charge of £5 for fees of £100 or less, or £10 for fees more than £100.

Attendance Details

In certain circumstances, we will share details of attendance or non-attendance with the person who booked and/or funded this course for the delegate. If you have any objection to your attendance status being shared, please can you contact Louise Greenwood (Director of Education & Training, Wessex LMCs) at least 48 hours before the start of the training on
