ZOOM ONLINE EVENT This training will be run over Zoom from an account owned by the Trainer and NOT Wessex LMCs NB: This means we will need to provide the trainers with your email address and contact details - continuing with a booking on this basis will constitute your tacit agreement to this. This training will be conducted online via the Zoom App.  To participate you will need to use an appropriate device with microphone, speaker, and camera where possible.  


Would you like to learn about new tools to help you with history taking and expand on your consultation skills?

This training is open to all Allied health professionals (including pharmacists and physios), Practice nurses and community nurses.


During this session we will be looking at:

  • Overview of consultation models
  • Components of a full clinical history
  • Using a structured approach to history taking
  • Communication skills and the consultation


On completion of these session delegates should:

  • understand different approaches to the consultation process
  • be able to undertake a full clinical history
  • be aware of tools/mnemonics that can help with the history taking process
  • be able to apply theory to practice by undertaking a clinical history

Consultant in Clinical Skills and Simulation

Ann Sunderland, qualified as a registered nurse in 1986. After working in a hospital setting for two years, Ann moved into general practice and was one of the first nurse practitioners in the Yorkshire and Humber region. After moving to a hybrid clinical and managerial role within a local clinical commissioning group, Ann moved into full time academia in 2006. In 2011, she was instrumental in designing the clinical skills and simulation suite at Leeds Beckett University and developed a special interest in simulation based education.

This option is for everyone working in a Practice in the Wessex LMC catchment area that does not fit into one of the other options on offer.


Hampshire and Isle of Wight Nurses & AHPs
We are delighted that NHS South East have agreed to fund this course for all AHPs & members of the Nursing Team working in Practices in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. To access this funding you must be an Allied Healthcare Practitioner or member of the Nursing Team working in a Practice in Hampshire (excluding North East Hants) or the Isle of Wight.

Please be advised there are spaces available on this course unless it states otherwise. If a course is full you will be given the option to book on the waiting list. If you are on the waiting list and a place becomes available, you will be notified automatically you do NOT need to contact Wessex LMCs. 


All delegate fees are non-refundable, however, if it has been agreed that a refund is possible, it will be subject to an administration charge of £5 for fees of £100 or less, or £10 for fees more than £100.
