ZOOM ONLINE EVENT This training will be run over Zoom. To participate you will need to install Zoom on your device, ensure it has a microphone, speaker, and camera. Please Note: Some trainers will no longer allow you to stay on the call if you do not have your camera operating.

To participate you will need a device capable of running Zoom, that also has a microphone and speaker, a camera is beneficial but not essential.

You are required to attend both days to be eligible for your certificate of attendance

Introduction  

This training is aimed at Practice Nurses who are new to providing immunisations and will be providing the full range of childhood and adult immunisations covered in the routine UK schedules.  It will provide nurses with the latest guidance on national immunisation programmes, anaphylaxis and demonstrate the tools and resources available to manage common incidents and educate patients. Foundation training and updates are tailored to suit the requirements of the delegates to their specific area of practice and the vaccine(s) that they deliver.

Objectives

We will cover:

  • Current issues in immunisation
  • Recent epidemiology of vaccine preventable disease
  • Any changes to vaccine recommendations or national policy
  • Update on vaccine ordering, storage and administration
  • Any changes to legislation relevant to vaccination
  • Review of current practice, recent vaccine incidents and identification of areas for improvement

We will also look at baby imms, and where appropriate HPV/Shingles and other routine vaccines

Please note this session will NOT be recorded

Mrs Cherry Brennan
Mrs Cherry Brennan
Trainer

Cherry Brennan is a registered Midwife with a wealth of experience spanning over two decades in providing care to families. Throughout her career, she has contributed her expertise in hospital and community environments, engaging in activities such as commissioning, teaching, and transformation. Currently, she holds the position of Manager for a Public Health Nursing service and offers international mentorship to fellow Nurses and Midwives.

In her previous role, Cherry served as a clinical lead in the Covid-19 vaccination service. In this capacity, she embraced opportunities to work within various clinical settings, including mass vaccination centers, outreach clinics, school environments, GP surgeries, and community venues. She assumed responsibility for the training and assessment of a substantial clinical workforce.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Cherry is a devoted mother of two, residing by the seaside. She embraces mindfulness in her daily life and has a deep passion for traveling

This option is for everyone working in a Practice in the Wessex LMC catchment area that does not fit into one of the other options on offer.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight - AHPs & Nurses We are delighted that NHS South East have agreed to fund this course for all AHPs & members of the Nursing Team working in Practices in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. To access this funding you must be an AHP or member of the Nursing Team working in a Practice in Hampshire (excluding North East Hants) or the Isle of Wight. £00.00
Non Members This is the cost if you are not working in a Practice in the Wessex LMCs catchment area. £520.00

Waiting List

Please be advised there are spaces available on this course unless it states otherwise. If a course is full you will be given the option to book on the waiting list. If you are on the waiting list and a place becomes available, you will be notified automatically you do NOT need to contact Wessex LMCs. 

Refunds

All delegate fees are non-refundable, however, if it has been agreed that a refund is possible, it will be subject to an administration charge of £5 for fees of £100 or less, or £10 for fees more than £100.
