Introduction
ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) diagnosis rates are increasing, but as conditions they remain underdiagnosed. This session aimed at GPs and AHPs will help clinicians provide more inclusive, neurodiversity-informed care and better meet the needs of patients and their families.
Aims
The aim of this teaching is to increase General Practice familiarity with the recognition of ADHD and ASD, and to support children and families where these conditions are present.
Content
In this presentation we will run through:
- Definitions
- History and presentation of ADHD and ASD
- Discuss the evidence base for management strategies
- How to refer, what information is required for the referral, and how to support the children once the diagnosis has been made

Event Speakers & Trainers
Dr Raman Sharma is a Consultant Community Paediatrician with over 20 years experience in Community Paediatrics. He has publications in Pediatrics and BMJ Open and has presented at Royal College and British Association of Community Child Health meetings. He currently is the Community Paediatric Lead at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon.

Refunds
All delegate fees are non-refundable, however, if it has been agreed that a refund is possible, it will be subject to an administration charge of £5 for delegate fees of £100 or less, or £10 for delegate fees more than £100.
