Salaried GP - Highcliffe Medical Centre

Job description

Are you a newly qualified GP looking for an exciting and supportive role to launch your career? Christchurch PCN (CPCN) is looking for applicants interested in 6 sessions per week to work within our PCN to support the healthcare needs of the local community. Candidates must demonstrate a positive and professional attitude, be fully registered with the General Medical Council, and possess strong teamwork skills to contribute effectively to a collaborative healthcare environment.

This position will be based across our 4 practices, Christchurch Medical Practice, Farmhouse Surgery, Highcliffe Medical Centre and Stour Surgery serving over 48,000 patients.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Conduct face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations including home visits.
  • Manage a personal caseload and provide holistic care for patients with diverse needs.
  • Undertake triage and same-day clinical duties as part of a duty doctor rota.
  • Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate treatments/interventions for patients.
  • Prescribe and review medications in accordance with PCN core practice policies and NICE guidance.
  • Refer patients to secondary or specialist care as appropriate.
  • Contribute to long-term condition management and preventative healthcare initiatives.
  • Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement, and QOF delivery.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records using clinical systems (e.g. SystmOne/EMIS).

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in Christchurch PCN and practice meetings, contributing to local development.
  • Collaborate with other ARRS roles (e.g. pharmacists, care coordinators, paramedics) to enhance patient care.
  • Support care navigation and personalised care planning.
  • Maintain professional development and compliance with revalidation requirements.
  • Adhere to Christchurch PCN & core practice policies including safeguarding, infection control, and prescribing protocols.

Job Requirements

  • Fully qualified GP, on the GMC GP Register and NHS England Performer List.
  • Preferably within 2 years post-CCT (in line with ARRS eligibility for new-to-practice GPs).
  • Excellent communication, clinical, and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Understanding of the NHS Long Term Plan and role of PCNs.
  • Strong communication in English, both written and verbal.
