Mrs. Sheila WilliamsSheila joined Wessex Local Medical Committees Ltd. in 2004 as Director for Liaison & Development. In this role she works with GPs, Practice Managers, Practice Manager Forums, PCT's and StHA's across the Wessex geography to foster relationships, support information flow and improve communication channels. Prior to this appointment Sheila was Deputy Director of Primary Care for a PCT in Hampshire for 4 years. In this position she managed the implementation of various national initiatives including Out of Hours and the new nGMS contract. Sheila has a background of 14 years experience in Primary Care including Practice Management roles in a large urban Practice and an expanding rural dispensing GMS. She has been responsible for introducing IT systems (independent to but interfacing with national system changes), driving financial system enhancements and managing/renewing several large contracts with national suppliers and clients including the MOD. Sheila started her career in the National Health Service qualifying as a registered Nurse in 1978, through to managing Acute Sector Medical and Surgical wards and on to supervising the non-medical element for Operating Theatres in a large Hospital. She has since obtained MAMS, has an OU Diploma in Health Business Management and is an accomplished Advanced PADI Diver .
