The Secretariat of the Wessex LMCs

The Secretariat of the Wessex LMCs is the committee that runs the central office and services for the constituent LMCs.

Each LMC has its Chairman and Vice-chairman as members of the Secretariat as of right and, collectively, they vote in a Chair of the Secretariat.  The Chair is normally non-voting (only having a casting vote).

The Secretariat employs the Chief Executive (Dr. Nigel Watson) who employs the Directors and office staff.

We have moved to a structure where the Secretariat is a company limited by guarantee, (Wessex Local Medical Committees Ltd.) in order to protect its members from litigation.
