Can I have a sick note, doc?

You are not obliged to issue a certificate for any illness lasting for less than seven days. Anyone missing work for less than seven days may submit a self certificate form (SC2).

You can print this letter from the LMC to give to patients to give to their employers should it be required which reminds employers of the law and to discourage these requests.
