I qualified from Southampton in 2001 and started as a GP Partner in Shirley, Southampton in August 2005. In the four and a half years as a partner I was the PBC lead for the practice and became a GP trainer.
I enjoyed the "politics" of getting involved in local healthcare through PBC but felt frustrated at not being able to devote more time to this because of other commitments. The opportunity to come and work at the Wessex LMC was an exciting challenge for me and I hope I can support General Practice through this role. I currently work as a sessional GP in rural Wiltshire for 2 days a week and 3 days a week as a Medical Director for the LMC. In July 2011 I was elected to be the GPC representative for Dorset and Wiltshire.
I have always been and remain passionate about General Practice.
