Examinations and Medical Certifcates for Absence

Medical certification is required only where a candidate is absent from an exam and the exam centre cannot verify the circumstances and only when the absence affects a terminal unit for assessment*.

This is not part of normal medical services and if you choose to do this you may charge a fee.

One examination board produces a form which can be downloaded here

Individual universities have thieir own rules so it is worth googling. Students may usually download self certificate forms for most minor brief absences.
