Introduction
Do you ever wonder… “Have I investigated this enough?”
Patients are increasingly complex, presentations are rarely straightforward, and clinical uncertainty is part of everyday practice.
But how do you know when you've investigated enough? When does more testing help and when might it lead to overdiagnosis, anxiety or unnecessary treatment?
Aims
This thought-provoking and interactive workshop aims to explore practical strategies to help you manage uncertainty, communicate risk and make confident clinical decisions. Without constantly worrying whether you've over or under-treated your patient.
Content
You'll explore how to:
- Manage uncertainty when the clinical picture isn't clear-cut
- Decide when you've investigated enough — and when to stop
- Approach blood results and clinical information with greater confidence
- Understand the balance between over- and under-investigation
- Communicate risk and uncertainty effectively with patients
- Use practical tools, frameworks and strategies to support decision-making
Gain practical approaches to help you feel more comfortable with uncertainty, more confident communicating risk and less worried about getting the balance wrong.
Embrace the uncertainty. Assess the risk. Make confident decisions.
