Introduction
This live-online, trainer led session will allow delegates to learn how to organise and summarise medical records. This half day session will be delivered via Zoom and will also include ‘off-line’ hands-on practical exercises using hard copy material we supply to delegates before the session. Â
Aims and Objectives
This course is designed to enable delegates to:
- Understand the importance of summarising medical recordsÂ
- Understand best practice regarding the summarising process and theÂ
- importance of having a protocol for summarising medical records
- Be able to summarise medical records logically, efficiently and effectivelyÂ
- Understand the importance of confidentiality and data protection in the process of summarising
- Be able to identify issues that they need to follow up when returning to their place of work
Content
Delegates will be taught some relevant medical abbreviations and terminology and confidentiality issues surrounding summarising medical records will be explored. In addition the course enables delegates to understand the relevance of summarising in relation to the achievement of QOF clinical targets.
The practical lessons will be discussed in the light of each delegate’s own practice protocol.
Previous Delegate Feedback
“I thought the course was very well laid out and I am much more confident in summarising because of it. I feel able to write out a clear protocol now for our clinician to approve/work on in time to pass on to my maternity cover. Thank you
