Introduction

This live-online, instructor led session is for those Nurses and AHPs who already have a basic knowledge of CVD.

Deepen your clinical expertise, strengthen your confidence, and enhance your management of more complex cardiovascular cases commonly seen in primary care.

Aims

The aims of this session are to:

  • enhance the knowledge and skills of clinicians who already have a foundational understanding of CVD.
  • build confidence in managing complex and challenging CVD presentations in primary care.
  • update participants on advanced and evidence-based approaches to atrial fibrillation (AF), hypertension, dyslipidaemia beyond statins, and heart failure.

Objectives

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Apply advanced principles in the assessment and management of atrial fibrillation, including complex or atypical cases.
  • Evaluate challenging hypertension scenarios and select appropriate management strategies.
  • Explore options for the management of dyslipidaemia in patients who do not tolerate or respond to statins.
  • Recognise key considerations in the effective management of heart failure within primary care.
  • Integrate current clinical evidence and guidelines into advanced CVD decision-making.
