MMR catch up campaign

The CMO has written to all PCTs and made funds available to push for increasing MMR uptake to avert an epidemic.(Letter here)

PCTs will be working on LESs which will likely mean a fee similar to flu vaccination. Central immunisation records are likely to be used to identify children and young adults who are mot fully immunised.

We will post more information as it becomes available.

HPV campaign

The catch up for young females who will miss the schools immunisation has been authorised and PCTs are looking at School Nurses to reach as many as possible. Howevere, there will be a number of girls who will be out of the reach of school nurses orwho prefer to attend the surgery for vaccination. The LMC is encouraging PCTs to come up with an appropriately funeded LES.
