With thanks to the Victor Street Surgery in Southampton
On a visit to a practice recently I noted that they had privacy screens on their monitors. These are not very expensive and can be obtained from most major suppliers (even a well known internet ordering book supplier) and mean that unless looking directly at the screen the screen appears blank.
They are essentially a piece of tinted plastic that easily fits on the screen and doesn't alter the viewing quality. This means you avoid the risk of patients and relatives seeing potentially sensitive information and risking any breaches in confidentiality. If you want to remove them you can easily lift them off. I felt it was an idea worth sharing.
